FREE SKATING TRAINING: BEGINNER skaters: https://skatefresh.com/freebie-beginner/ INTERMEDIATE skaters:https://skatefresh.com/freebie-interm... ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The heel brake might be the most controversial piece of equipment in inline skating. Some skaters say it’s not worth wearing, while others claim it’s ineffective, gets in the way, or is too difficult to use properly. So instead of arguing about it, we decided to put it to a real-world test! In this video, Amir (1 year of inline skating experience) and I (42 years of skating experience) compare the Heel Brake against five popular stopping methods on rollerblades: Heel brake, T-stop, Stepping plough stop, Spin stop, Powerslide, and the PowerStop. For each test, we rolled at the exact same speed, started braking from the same line, and measured who stopped in the shortest distance to simulate an emergency stopping situation. The results were fascinating. Not only did the Heel brake perform exceptionally well, but Amir's Heel brake actually beat some of my advanced stopping methods—including my T-stop and Stepping plough stop! We also break down which inline skate stopping methods are best for emergency situations, and why popular techniques like the T-stop might give skaters a false sense of security. Plus, I share a crucial coaching tip to help you increase your heel brake stopping power, along with my golden rule for when it’s actually safe to remove your brake. #inlineskating #rollerblading #howtoinlineskate #inlineskatingstopping #heelbrake ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Having trouble stopping on inline skates?
