07. Ephesians 1:11-12 God’s Purpose |

Ephesians 1:11–12 lifts our eyes to the sovereign purpose of God: “In Christ we have also obtained an inheritance,” having been destined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will. This passage reminds us that salvation is not random, fragile, or uncertain. God’s people are not carried along by chance, fate, or human strength. In Christ, they are gathered into the eternal purpose of God, secured by His will, and appointed to live “for the praise of his glory.” To belong to Christ is to know that God is working all things according to His wise and holy counsel. Even when life appears confusing, painful, or unfinished, the believer’s inheritance rests in the hands of the God who cannot fail. In this devotional, we reflect on God’s sovereign purpose, the believer’s inheritance in Christ, assurance, providence, and the glory of living as those whose hope is anchored in the will of God.
