Blessed in Christ | Ephesians 1:3 Ephesians 1:3 opens one of the richest doxologies in all of Scripture: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Before Paul asks anything from God, he blesses God for what He has already given in Christ. In this devotional, we consider the wonder that every spiritual blessing comes from the Father, through the Son, and in the heavenly places. The Christian life does not begin with striving for blessing, but with receiving what God has freely bestowed in union with Christ. To be blessed in Christ is to stand within the grace of God’s eternal purpose. Our salvation is not accidental, shallow, or uncertain. It is rooted in the Father’s will, secured in the Son, and applied by the Spirit. May this meditation lead us to worship, assurance, humility, and grateful obedience as we behold the God who has blessed His people with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
