Hello and Welcome to Deaf Talks News!
Have you heard of the Indian Express newspaper?
This newspaper was established in 1932 and it is 94 years old.
It is one of India's most trusted and respected newspapers.
Two days ago on September 23 the Indian Express published a very serious news article.
They said the Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had formally written letters against CEC Gyanesh Kumar.
Not once. Not twice. But 14 times over 10 months.
They were writing that we disagree with your decisions. We object to what you are doing in SIR.
This internal conflict within the Election Commission shocked the entire country.
What were they fighting about?
The main issue is something called SIR - Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
We all know that SIR deleted13 crore voter names.
The two Election Commissioners complained that this all happened under Gyanesh Kumar's leadership, not us.
Meaning something fake has happened inside the SIR.
This was found by the Indian Express News and published two days after the entire country was shocked.
Now CJP enters the story.
CJP's three demands was that CEC Gyanesh Kumar must resign within 48 hours.
If he refuses, criminal proceedings must be started against him.
Investigation must be started soon.
What did the Election Commission say?
The Election Commission responded with an 8 point statement.
They said differences of opinion between members are completely normal in any multi-member institution.
All decisions are discussed properly before being finalised.
Voter list changes at state and district levels are handled by proper designated officials under prescribed procedures.
