1,260 Pound Blue Marlin (New East Atlantic Record)

This Blue Marlin has made National news and I was lucky enough to be on the boat that caught it. A group of 4 friends chartered The 45' Castafari with captain Damon Sacco (local legend), for a Canyons trip. After grinding overnight the captain put us on fish the next morning. Yellowfin tuna were plentiful, as were yellowfin "rats". As frustrating as the small tuna were, Damon knew that Marlin would be in the area. And then it happened... a virtual sea monster slammed a ballyhoo out back and the fight was on. Jumping and spooling, we were forced to back down on her for 3 hours. Twice captain Sacco maneuvered to unwrap the line. It was a epic battle and Walter Chapman eventually landed this 1,260 lb fish, setting records up and down the Atlantic East Coast. Enjoy the ride!
