So why does your shoulder still hurt? You could spend months in rehab that never fixes the real problem, or accept pain and weakness that could actually be treated. In this video, I'm going to break down the six real reasons a shoulder can still hurt after surgery and what each one means for what you should do next. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 6 Reasons Your Shoulder Still Hurts After Surgery (And What to Do Next) 0:33 Reason 1: The wrong problem was treated 1:59 Reason 2: Only part of the problem was treated 3:39 Reason 3: The repair never fully healed 5:04 Reason 4: The tissue or muscle was already too compromised 8:34 Reason 5: The surgery was never meant to restore full function 9:33 Reason 6: Recovery never restored movement and strength 10:44 How I figure out which problem you actually have 11:20 What to do next if this is you ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED Why does my shoulder still hurt after rotator cuff surgery even though the surgery went well? Pain can persist if the repair targeted the wrong structure, only treated part of the problem, or if the tendon never fully healed onto the bone. It does not always mean the surgery was done poorly, it often means the full picture was never confirmed before or after the operation. Is it normal to still be weak months after shoulder surgery even with no pain? Weakness without pain often means the repair healed but the muscle never regained strength or the shoulder stayed stiff during recovery. Strength should be measured directly rather than assumed just because motion and pain have improved. Can a rotator cuff repair fail without causing new pain? Yes. A tendon can pull away or fail to heal fully while a patient still feels better than before surgery, since improved comfort does not confirm the tissue actually reconnected. 🎥 WATCH NEXT    • You’ll Find This Video When Your MRI Says ...   You'll Find This Video When Your MRI Says "Rotator Cuff Tear" 📱 RESOURCES Website: https://www.drivanwong.com Practice: https://www.islandorthopaedics.ky Instagram:   / drivanwongmd   LinkedIn:   / ivan-wong-415b8515   🔔 If this changed how you think about your shoulder, subscribe for more videos breaking down the real reasons injuries do not heal the way you expect. 💬 If your shoulder still hurts after surgery, tell me in the comments what never fully improved.
