Silver Springs State Park by Land and by Water

Sharing one last great adventure. I knew I wouldn't want to spend all my free time editing videos, so early on, I decided on an end point. Filming for 7 years and strategically uploading videos, I now have a video uploaded for each calendar day. I can now go back every day of the year and watch one of my memories. If I would have been monetized I could have made the argument to continue, but my loyal couple dozen watchers just can't amount to enough watch hours, despite having over a thousand subscribers. I've never been one to market myself so this isn't a surprise or disappointment. I always thought of the channel as more of a resource for people. I especially liked filming more unknown type preserves. I smile every time I notice someone watching one of those. I'll now try to come up with a new creative outlet. I've done many different things in the past. Perhaps I'll revisit surreal photography, music, disc golf, or try something new...maybe DIY projects. Could even be something like visit the Florida State Parks I haven't been to. Not all lend themselves to full length wildlife videos, so there's quite a few I haven't visited. I might also concentrate on more boating or snorkeling. Could be anything. I'll still be doing the yearly hiking spree and vacations. If I record any good wildlife or nature, I'll upload it as a short. Mable I'll finally get into backpacking. Who knows? Now as for the lovely Silver Springs trip.... In this video I start by walking the boardwalk over the clear water and passed the Fort King Pavilion. First I found a cat bird, then the star of most Silver Springs videos, a rhesus macaque. So glad I found one early! These monkeys are one of the main attractions to come here, along with the famous glass bottom boats. Once I got on the water via paddleboard, I started to focus on filming underwater. The turtle were amazing. So curious. There were lots of different fish around too. Along the shores I filmed water fowl of all kinds. I even found an alligator while I was filming an otter. I passed by some anhinga and cormorant nests as I worked my way back to the kayak launch. From then on I was on foot. First trail was the Silver Trail North Loop. At this point in the video you'll see some small birds, a skink, bees, gopher tortoise, butterfly, beetle larva(?), and fox squirrel. The woodpecker startling itself when it looked in a tree hole occupied by a grey squirrel was pretty funny. I ended the day hiking the Silver Trail South Loop, the Old Military Trail, and the River Loop. Here I found Limpkin, Skinks, Beetle, Water Moccasin, Moth, Fish, Robber Fly, Turtle, and small birds, including their noisy chicks. Thanks for watching.
