MARRIAGE EQUALITY CASE RESUMES AT GABRONE HIGH COURT continues

The High Court in Gaborone resumes hearing on the recognition of same-sex marriage in Botswana today. Applicants Bonolo Omphile Selelo and Tsholofelo Seele Kumile, supported by LGBTQ+ rights group LEGABIBO, seek to declare laws against same-sex marriage unconstitutional based on equality, non-discrimination, dignity, and privacy. The court will hear arguments today and tomorrow, with opposition from the Evangelical Fellowship of Botswana and the Dingwetsi Association of Botswana.
