We Didn’t Expect Snow on This Ride in April

Some rides don’t need a big story. This one started like many others, leaving Bucharest on a crowded highway, nothing special, just miles ahead. But as the city faded and the roads opened up, things slowly shifted. Early spring in Romania has its own kind of beauty. The landscape is not green yet, still caught between seasons. Bare trees, quiet hills, and long stretches of road that give you space to breathe. Climbing toward Cheia, the temperature dropped, and near the top we ran into snow. Not planned, not expected, just one of those moments that changes the feeling of a ride. At around 1300m altitude, it still felt like winter hadn’t fully let go. With the Armure suits, the cold stayed outside and the ride stayed comfortable. Descending toward Săcele and Întorsura Buzăului, the roads opened up again, quieter, more relaxed. Further along, Siriu Lake stood out. The water had a deep green color this time, likely from recent rain, different from the usual blue and giving the whole place a calmer, heavier atmosphere. Transcislau, between Cislău and the surrounding hills, is a short pass, but worth every kilometer. Smooth curves, good asphalt, and just enough elevation to remind you why you ride. The CFMOTO 800MT Explore, handled everything without effort. From highway traffic to cold mountain air and changing road conditions, it stayed smooth, stable, and easy to trust. The ride ended the same way it started, back into traffic, back into noise. But by then, the pace had already changed. Not every ride needs to be extraordinary. Sometimes it is enough that you went.
