Somewhere along the way, a lot of us got so good at being responsible that we forgot how to actually live. Work. Bills. Deadlines. Plans. Responsibilities. None of that is wrong—but when every hour has to be productive and every decision has to make sense, something starts disappearing. At 55, I’m starting to realize that some of the things I’m learning now are things I already understood when I was 10. Maybe rebuilding your life isn’t always about becoming somebody new.
