In this video I will be making Boal Mach and Bichi curry (Asian Catfish & Asian green Beans) Leave a like and a comment with any questions or suggestions you may have. INGREDIENTS • 80ml (6 tbsp) Oil • 500g Boal (Asian Catfish) • 4 & 1/2 cups water • 300g Bichi • 3tbsp pre-cooked onion & garlic paste • 1tsp chilli powder • 1 & 1/2tsp coriander powder • 1tsp cumin powder • 1tsp turmeric powder • 1 & 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste) • 4 green chillies • A handful of fresh coriander    • Onion & Garlic Paste | Aysha's Food Diary   METHOD • Marinate your Boal fish with 1/2tsp of turmeric and 1/2tsp of salt. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes. • In a pan, heat 2tbsp of oil on a medium heat. • Once hot, place the marinated Boal in the pan and fry for 2-3 minutes, turn over and fry for another 2-3 minutes. • Remove Boal from pan and set aside for later For the Bichi (if frozen) • In another pan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil with 1/2tsp turmeric and 1/2tsp salt • Add the Bichi to the pan and boil for 8-10 minutes. • Drain the Bichi and set aside for later. • In another pan, heat 50ml (3-4tbsp) of oil. • Add your onion & garlic paste to the pan. (Alternatively, chop 1 onion and 5 garlic cloves and fry until it looks like the paste I have made in the video). • Add all the spices to the pan (chilli, coriander, cumin, turmeric) • Add a half cup of water • Add 1 & 1/2 tsp salt to the pan and allow the masala to simmer and reduce. • Once reduced, add tomatoes and 2tbsp water. • Allow the tomatoes to cook through. • Place the pre-fried fish into the pan carefully to keep the fish from breaking. • Cover on a high heat for 2-3 minutes. • Add the pre-boiled Bichi to the pan, • Add 1 & 1/2 cup water (I forgot to show this step in the video) • Mix carefully, cover and cook on a medium heat for 3-5 minutes. • Add 4 cut green chillies to the pan. • Add a handful of chopped fresh coriander to the pan and allow to simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat. • Plate up with rice and serve hot.
