Railfanning SW Houston, TX 6/27/26 w/ CPKC Leader & More!

Late last month, toward the end of my Summer 2026 semester, I spent a bit of time railfanning the UP Glidden Sub in southwest Houston. I caught several interesting trains, including a surprise CPKC leader that really made the trip worthwhile! CP AC44CW #8600 - New Cast P3 KCSM SD70ACe #4099 (DPU) 2:58 Chased the CPKC grain train to Missouri City, where I caught another shot of the unrebuilt AC44 with its distinctive P3 horn. 4:23 CPKC 181 eastbound at Sugar Land with a surprise CPKC Tier 4 leader! CPKC/CP ET44AC #7495 - Raised Letter K5HL KCS ES44AC #4790 7:30 Moved back to Heacker for another shot of CPKC 181. While waiting, I caught a westbound UP autorack train led by a pair of lettered AC44s, featuring an AC44CWCTE in the less common winged/lettered scheme instead of the American flag. UP C44ACCTE #5863 - Raised Letter K3HA UP C44ACM #6446 9:48 CPKC 181 heads east through Heacker. 13:29 CPKC 175 eastbound passes Heacker hot on the heels of CPKC 181. After that, I called it a day.
