Black and White

I walked through a valley, black and white Searching through the darkness for a little light Every step was heavy, every road unknown But somewhere in the silence, I was not alone The mountains stood around me, hiding every view I couldn't see tomorrow, didn't know what to do But when I felt the weakest and fell down to my knees I heard You in the silence saying, “Put your trust in Me” I walked through a valley in black and white But God gave it color in my eyes He turned my darkness into light And showed me hope was still alive When all I saw were clouds above You painted Heaven with Your love Jesus, You changed my black and white And gave me color in my eyes I carried all my questions, carried all my pain Wondering if the sun would ever shine again But You were in the thunder, You were in the rain Teaching me that even storms can make me grow again The road began to change when I gave my heart to You The grey became a sunrise, and the sky became so blue The things I thought were broken had a purpose all along You took my tears and somehow turned them into songs I walked through a valley in black and white But God gave it color in my eyes He turned my darkness into light And showed me hope was still alive When all I saw were clouds above You painted Heaven with Your love Jesus, You changed my black and white And gave me color in my eyes And now when shadows find me, I'm not afraid to go Because I've seen Your faithfulness on every broken road I know You walk beside me wherever I may be And even in the valley, You're still coloring what I see One day I'll leave this valley and finally understand How every single moment was resting in Your hands Until I stand in Heaven and see You face to face I'll walk through every color as a picture of Your grace
