One String - Heavy Stop-Time Slide Blues | NoniMotto

Saturday night at the packed juke joint, five guitar strings snapped one after another until only one was left hanging on. With a steel slide and raw delta fire, that single string tore the whole roof off. Turn it up loud and feel that heavy 88 BPM stop-time groove and screaming slide guitar! Lyrics: It's Saturday night, and the old juke joint is full I tune my guitar, and I give the strings a pull Then my old strings start to break, one, two, three, four, five Now just one string left, and I'm barely alive One string, one string, one string is all I really need Slide it up, slide it down, let the blues take the lead One string, one string, one string is all I really need One string, one string, now the whole crowd has agreed The crowd is waiting, and the room is getting hot I can't run home now, so I give it all I've got I put on my steel slide, and I touch that one string One long note rings out like a bird in the spring One string, one string, one string is all I really need Slide it up, slide it down, let the blues take the lead One string, one string, one string is all I really need One string, one string, now the whole crowd has agreed Then the whole room hushes, and nobody moves I slide up high, and I slide it down, and I groove One long string, one note, and the whole room just stands Old Miss Mary drops her paper fan from her hands Now they call me One String, the best around The best little bluesman that you ever found I keep my new strings in a box on the shelf But I only play one string, just to be myself One string, one string, one string is all I really need Slide it up, slide it down, let the blues take the lead One string, one string, one string is all I really need One string, one string, that's all the blues I need All music composed, performed, and produced by NoniMotto.
