When life gets busy and I'm away from home, I'm especially grateful for the days when I get to slow down and do the things I love. Gardening, baking, creating, and adding little touches to our home bring me so much joy and contentment! ❤️ This week, I'm sharing bits of everyday homemaking; from the garden to the kitchen and a mini decor refresh! 🥰 My hope is to encourage you to slow down, find joy in the ordinary, and make the most of the home and life you've been given. ❤️ Alicia GF Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe: For a large batch - 3 Cups of GF Flour (King Arthur) 3 tsp Baking Powder 1 1/2 - 2 tsp Baking Soda 1 tsp of sea salt 3 heaping TBS of Crisco 1 Stick Cold Butter 1 1/2 - 2 cups (or more) of buttermilk *Note: I forgot to add the baking soda in the video. This won't affect the overall taste of the biscuit, they just won't be as fluffy.* Combine all of the dry ingredients together. Add in Crisco and cut into flour with pastry cutter. Cut (or shred butter -preferred) into small chunks; use pastry cutter to cut into flour until it’s smaller in size. Gradually add in buttermilk until you have a wet, sticky dough. Turn out onto a floured surface and gently fold until not so sticky. Form dough into a “log” of sorts and pinch dough into sections, gently shaping into biscuits. Do not over work the dough. Alternate option: Roll out to about 1 1/2 inch thickness and cut out with biscuit cutter. This recipe makes 22 (or less depending on thickness of the biscuits.). Can be made ahead and frozen; just place on a tray in a single layer lined with wax paper. Freeze for 1 hour then transfer to a Ziploc bag for storage. Let me know if you have questions! ☺️ I love hearing from you! My comments are a place for kindness, encouragement, and conversation. Please refrain from derogatory, crude, or hateful language towards others. Political comments, political innuendo, and divisive discussions are also not welcome. Let's keep this a warm and welcoming space for everyone. ❤️ Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey! It means so much to me and my family! 🎉 Let’s Connect! 🎉 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?... Instagram:   / lavenderandlace24   Business Inquiries: lavenderlaceah@gmail.com
