We started with just 38 parent chickens, and today we’re sitting with approximately 70 chicks! And we’re only getting started. 🐣
In this video, I’m taking you through our progress since purchasing our incubator and showing you what we’ve managed to achieve after our first two hatching cycles.
Our first batch gave us over 50 chicks from approximately 120 eggs, despite many of the eggs being older than ideal. The second batch produced another 20-something chicks.
I’ll also take you through our breeding flock, show you how we’re collecting eggs and explain some of the changes we’ve made to improve our breeding operation.
One of the biggest lessons so far is that growing a poultry business isn’t just about buying more chickens. It’s about learning how to breed, manage and multiply the stock you already have.
With a new hatching cycle every 21 days, we’re slowly building something that has the potential to grow significantly.
And this is exactly the kind of practical knowledge I want to share with other aspiring farmers.
🚜 WANT TO LEARN HOW TO START AND RUN YOUR OWN POULTRY FARM?
In January, I’ll be hosting a PAID poultry farming workshop where I’ll be sharing practical knowledge from our own farming experience.
We’ll cover:
Poultry feed formulation and mixing your own feed.
Brooding and managing day-old chicks.
Raising chickens from day one to market.
Planning and building chicken houses.
Poultry farm management.
Marketing and finding customers.
The business side of poultry farming.
This isn’t just theory. We’ll be sharing practical lessons, experiences, mistakes and strategies from our own operation.
HOW TO JOIN:
Comment the word WORKSHOP below, and I’ll add you to our dedicated WhatsApp group where we’ll share more information about the January workshop, including registration and payment details.
Please note: This is a PAID workshop.
If you’re serious about getting into poultry farming or improving your existing operation, this is an opportunity to learn from someone who’s actually doing the work.
Don’t just watch us build. Learn how to build yours too!
