On the first night of frost, a lone archer walks the length of a mountain river. She no longer draws her bow. Beside her moves Kawane, an ancient Blakiston's fish owl — Shimafukurō (シマフクロウ) in Japanese — the old sovereign of the riverbanks, who finds the way not by sight but by listening. Moonlight lies thin on the water. Mist rests low over the far bank. Through moss and cedar, rain and first snow, a dark ravine and a still pool, the two travel toward an open valley at dawn, and the music follows them one quiet step at a time. Let it play while you meditate, while you read by a low lamp, while you study or need an unbroken stretch of focus, or simply while you unwind at the end of the day. It can also carry you gently toward sleep. Keep the volume soft, just above the sound of the room. If you listen as you drift off, a sleep timer on your device will let the music fade when you no longer need it. Thank you for walking this path with us.
