The Sun Race Lived Up to Its Name… | Menton 46K

The Menton Sun Race certainly lived up to its name this year. ☀️ 46 km, more than 3,000 meters of elevation gain, and the first day of a heatwave on the Côte d’Azur. I ran the Menton Sun Race 30k last year, but this time I came back for the full 46K course — starting from the Mediterranean in Menton and heading straight into the mountains. And I mean straight into the mountains. The race begins with 1,100 meters of climbing before taking us through some of my favourite trails above Menton, including a very hot and very slow climb up Mont Baudon. As the temperature kept rising, simply keeping myself cool became almost as important as moving forward. Water, Coke, watermelon, unofficial aid stations, volunteers with hoses... anything helped. 😅 My goal was to finish in under 9 hours, but with the heat and more than 3,000 meters of climbing, I wasn't sure that was going to happen until very late in the race. This is my full experience of the Menton Sun Race 46K 2026 — the beautiful trails, the suffering, the incredible volunteers, and probably more sun than the race name needed to deliver.
