What does it mean to stand in the gap?
For Dr Justin Dick DC, that calling started long before he became a chiropractor.

Before entering chiropractic, Justin trained in nuclear medicine, computed tomography, and healthcare management. He worked inside the hospital system before eventually leaving that world and entering full-time disaster ministry.
He traveled internationally, served communities devastated by disaster, slept on church floors and in military tents, and helped people begin rebuilding when they had lost virtually everything.
Then chiropractic became personal.
Justin shares his own experience with nearly 30 years of seizures and the changes he experienced after beginning chiropractic care. He is careful not to claim chiropractic cured his seizures; instead, he discusses what the experience taught him about the body's capacity for adaptation.
His wife’s significant scoliosis and her experience with specialized scoliosis care added another chapter.
Those experiences eventually led Justin to Sherman College of Chiropractic, subluxation-centered chiropractic, and advanced scoliosis training through the CLEAR Scoliosis Institute.
In Episode 809 of the Chiro Hustle Podcast, James Chester and Dr Justin Dick DC dive deep into:
• What scoliosis actually is
• Why scoliosis is more than a sideways spinal curve
• Rotation and three-dimensional spinal mechanics
• Cervical and sagittal biomechanics
• Subluxation-centered chiropractic
• Why the chiropractic adjustment remains foundational to Justin's approach
• The role of clinically appropriate X-rays in scoliosis evaluation
• Objective measurement and structural change
• Early detection of scoliosis
• Growth and progression risk
• Difficult 50, 60, and 70+ degree scoliosis cases
• CLEAR Scoliosis Institute training and certification
• Co-management and referral of complex cases
• Chiropractic research and publication
• Mentorship for chiropractic students
• Why Justin believes chiropractors should document and publish their work
Justin also discusses research questions he is currently pursuing, including whether biomechanical findings might be identifiable in younger children before scoliosis is commonly diagnosed.
And then the conversation returns to the story underneath all of it.
Justin once showed up after disasters to help people rebuild their lives.
Today, he brings that servant mentality to challenging scoliosis cases.
The tools changed. The mission didn't.
Stand in the gap.
Serve.
Measure.
Learn.
Publish.
Teach.
And keep the main thing the main thing.
This is Episode 809 of the Chiro Hustle Podcast with Dr Justin Dick DC.
You’re just one story away. Keep hustling.
