In this two-part real-world test, I’m mounting two classic Canon EF ultra-wide zoom lenses onto the Canon EOS R6 Mark II via the EF-EOS R adapter to see how they perform in 2024: the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L and the Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L. Day 1: Testing the faster EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM—evaluating low-light performance, autofocus responsiveness with Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, edge-to-edge sharpness, and background separation on the move. Day 2: Switching over to the lighter, budget-friendly EF 17-40mm f/4L USM to see if its compact footprint and extra reach to 40mm make it the better everyday walk-around companion. Can these classic DSLR L-series lenses still deliver stunning results on modern mirrorless bodies like the R6 Mark II? Let’s find out! 💬 Which one would you choose? Do you prefer the extra stop of light with the 16-35mm f/2.8, or the lightweight versatility and value of the 17-40mm f/4? Let me know in the comments! ⏱️ Timestamps: 00:00 - Introduction: Classic EF Glass on the Canon R6 Mark II 01:45 - Day 1: Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L Setup & Ergonomics 05:30 - Walking Vlog & Autofocus Tracking Test (16-35mm) 09:15 - Low-Light Performance & f/2.8 Bokeh 11:20 - Day 2: Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Overview & Portability 14:40 - Walking Vlog & 40mm Focal Length Flexibility 18:30 - Sharpness, Flare Resistance & IBIS Performance 22:15 - Final Verdict: Which EF Lens Belongs in Your Bag? 📷 Gear Featured in This Video: Camera: Canon EOS R6 Mark II Day 1 Lens: Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM Day 2 Lens: Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Adapter: Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R Audio / Mic: DJI Mic Mini 🔔 Subscribe to The Wandering Teacher for more real-world camera tests, walking vlogs, and lens reviews #CanonR6MarkII #CanonEF #EF1635mm #EF1740mm #LSeries #TheWanderingTeacher #LensReview
