Gascoyne Junction: A beautiful town with wonderful people, it was devastated in 2010 by a freak catastrophic weather event—what the wind didn’t destroy, flooding did. Yet, they have nearly rebuilt the entire town with incredible passion and effort. Exceptionally tourist-friendly, its caravan park outshines those of busier towns, and the war memorial along with a tribute to a past aerial muster is both heartwarming and uplifting. Situated in the heart of the true outback, this town embodies the spirit of what Australians used to be. Kennedy Ranges: The geology of the Kennedys is truly unique; witnessing Mother Nature's incredible power to create, destroy, and rebuild in so many remarkable ways is absolutely awe-inspiring.
