Come along for a relaxing 4K walk through Kim Keat Palm Market & Food Centre, one of Toa Payoh’s familiar neighbourhood hawker centres. 🇸🇬🍜 Located at Lorong 7 Toa Payoh, Kim Keat Palm is very much a local eating place — the kind of hawker centre where residents arrive early for breakfast, pick up groceries from the wet market and queue for dishes they have been eating for years. The centre has 61 cooked-food stalls and 59 market stalls, with plenty of traditional Singapore favourites to discover. Among the better-known food here are Hainanese beef noodles, Teochew fishball noodles, wanton mee, kway chap, oyster omelette, prawn noodles, Hainanese snacks, nasi lemak, mee rebus, vegetarian food and traditional desserts. Two particularly well-known names are Hai Nan Xing Zhou Beef Noodle and the original LiXin Teochew Fishball Noodles stall. Unlike the tourist-heavy hawker centres around central Singapore, Kim Keat Palm offers a glimpse of everyday heartland life in one of Singapore’s oldest housing estates.
