Sail Freo 2026

Sail Freo is the first dinghy regatta of the summer season on the WA calendar although you wouldn't know it with rain and a maximum temperature of just 18 degrees I was in full winter kit. The video is stitched together from the livestream recording. I was a fleet of one in good company with 5o5's and 9'ers on Day 1 and 5o5's and Sharpies on Day 2. Day 1 was a glorious 15-22kts, my starts got progressively better, the last two races unfortunately weren't recorded but I was having good races with the 5-o's on the first leg beating them to the top mark in 3 out of 4 races. Day 2 was lighter 6-12kts, no hope of keeping pace in these conditions. Despite being on my own I got exactly what I was looking for, practice offshore in waves in the lead up to the 2027 Contender World Championship.
