The Day Gina Lost Her Hold on Hope Forever | Days of our Lives | 1999 | FREE EPISODE

At the Kiriakis mansion, Carrie (Christie Clark) and Austin (Austin Peck) sit with their finalized divorce, trading quiet memories instead of blame. In the French countryside, Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) are stranded after their helicopter crash, with Sami badly injured and Lucas desperate to get her to safety. Back at the lab, Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) pushes Dr. Rolf (William Utay) to stall the satellite until he gets his hands on the Renet. Meanwhile, Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso) sneaks into the lab herself and steals the CD-ROM holding Hope's memories, all while a devastating call to John (Drake Hogestyn) leaves her shaken. Back in Salem, John, Marlena (Deidre Hall), and Belle (Kirsten Storms) trace the mystery calls back to Paris, and Marlena confronts Stefano directly over the phone. Bo (Peter Reckell) finally breaks free from custody and races to find Hope, arriving just as Gina makes one last desperate bid to keep her hold over her. This is the scene fans still talk about, the moment Hope chooses Bo's love over Gina's grip once and for all, and Gina fades away in tears. Bo and Hope finally reunite, and that kiss says it all.
