LIVE: Day One of the Gledholt Blockade Join On Track With Tim live on Saturday, 19 September as the Gledholt Blockade gets underway on the TransPennine Route Upgrade between Huddersfield and Deighton. For the first few hours of this major engineering possession, I’ll be documenting the work as it happens using both drone footage and live ground-level coverage. Several significant pieces of work are expected to begin during the opening day of the blockade. At Deighton, work is expected around the demolition of the A62 Leeds Road Overbridge, one of the major structures being replaced as part of the railway upgrade. At Springwood Junction, track removal is expected as engineers begin major changes to the railway layout west of Huddersfield Station. There should also be substantial activity around Huddersfield Railway Station, where the station reconstruction and wider track remodelling continue as part of the TransPennine Route Upgrade. Because this is live coverage, the exact sequence of engineering activity may change throughout the day. I’ll move between locations where possible to capture the most significant work as it develops.
