Subscribe to us to see short films of NZ's heritage rail at it's finest! ‪@TNZStudios‬ On the final leg of the GVR's Spring Steam & Diesel Tour with Ab 608 'Passchendaele', GVR's loco Ww 644 travelled south from Glenbrook to Hamilton to meet the train for the remainder of its journey north. From there in the late afternoon and into the evening, the two locos doubled headed the train home to the GVR. A Double Header on the National Rail Network in NZ is rare - and this was the first one north of Ohakune since GVR's Ja 1250 & Steam Inc's Ja 1271 hauled the 'Double Thunder' in April 2011. On this calm Spring evening, we captured the occasion lineside, in the air, and on our GoPro's positioned on each locomotive.
