-- ENG -- This fourth release from Villagers of Ioannina City, Venceremos, translates from Greek to "we shall overcome"; however, vocalist Alex Karametis explains that the term should be understood more as the act of not giving in or refusing to be broken by something—or someone. Produced entirely by Alex Karametis at Magnanimous X studio, this is also the favorite record of the Greek band, which hails from the small city of Ioannina in Epirus (in northwestern Greece). That explains the origin of the name of this band—a group still far too little-known here in France, which is a real shame, as these Greek musicians deserve your full attention. After all, they have been around since 2000—initially under the name V.I.C. Royal, before changing it to Villagers of Ioannina City in 2007. Hopefully, Venceremos will change that, especially given its release on a label as prominent as @napalmrecords in September 2026.
