The Avengers Fixed The Wrong Problem

Every hero in the Marvel Universe has beaten Ultron at some point, yet none of those victories have ever held. Age of Ultron follows an Earth conquered by automated systems while the mastermind behind the occupation remains largely absent. Rather than a conventional physical threat, Ultron operates as an address that routes elsewhere when destroyed. When standard combat fails, the surviving heroes attempt a series of desperate measures including temporal assassinations and a high-risk infiltration led by Luke Cage. Every proposed solution ultimately traces back to the architecture designed by Hank Pym decades earlier. Rather than destroying the artificial intelligence permanently, the final successful resolution relies on a dormant backdoor code embedded in the original program. The resulting disruption to the space-time continuum exposes the cost of trying to outsmart a system that was built to become infrastructure.
