Join this real-time drive from Copenhagen to Helsingør, travelling through the Danish capital region on the E20 and E47 motorways before continuing north toward the historic city of Helsingør on the Øresund coast. The journey begins in the Copenhagen area on the E20, travelling through the busy motorway network surrounding Denmark’s capital. From here, the route connects with the E47/E55 and follows Motorring 3, Copenhagen’s important western ring motorway. Leaving the southern suburbs behind, the drive continues north through the Copenhagen metropolitan area, passing Rødovre, Gladsaxe and Lyngby before joining the Helsingørmotorvejen toward Helsingør. North of Copenhagen, the surroundings gradually become greener and less urban. The E47 continues past Nærum, Vedbæk, Hørsholm and Kokkedal, travelling through the attractive landscapes of northern Zealand. The final section passes Nivå, Humlebæk and Espergærde before approaching Helsingør, located at the narrowest point of the Øresund between Denmark and Sweden. Across the water lies the Swedish city of Helsingborg, connected to Helsingør by one of Scandinavia’s busiest ferry routes. Cloudy weather and periods of light rain create a distinctly Scandinavian atmosphere throughout the journey, with wet motorway surfaces, overcast skies and changing visibility adding another dimension to this relaxing real-time drive.
