"To The Great Anything Beyond" is a project exploring Alzheimer's disease and its complete disintegration of the mind and the soul. The project takes the form of the doomsday clock, split into 24 "hours", each one representing a single hour of the doomsday clock. As the clock creeps closer to midnight, the condition of the patient worsens and worsens. Inspired by The Caremaker's "We Are Eternal", Wavelength's "Tome of Patina and Self-Recursion", and Context Switch's "Light Shines Into Darkness". *PART 2* "A SUBTLE UNRAVELLING" CLINICAL STAGE 3 0:00:00 - .020 - Mountains behind me DOUBTS I came home one night to see him sitting under one of the apple trees in the garden. I then discovered that he'd found the book. He was clutching it with both his arms wrapped around. He turned and looked at me, and through suffocating tears spat out: "This is what I've got, isn't it?" 0:11:18 - .019 - In the depth of my pupils DENIAL I don't want to deal with any of this anymore. Just let me out. Let me the fuck out. Open the fucking door. It's already too late. 0:22:50 - .018 - The icy air of night EPIPHANY That day I saw him lying in his bed, silently. He never spoke a word to me or any of us. It was almost as if he knew this day was coming. I left him a voicemail saying, "you need to wake up", "it's all going to be okay, dear," ...
