I’d tried to put things back together, But I didn’t know where to start; Then Jesus heard the prayer From the depths of my heart. [Chorus] Heaven sent a Hero When I couldn’t find my way; He came down here to reach me, And He took my sins away. I may never find the words,..... there are no words to say, For the price He chose to pay......, what a price He had to pay And my rescue has a name.... His name is Jesus [Verse 2] He saw the cross before Him, And He knew what it would mean; Still He cared enough to come For someone just like me. They drove the nails into His hands; He could have walked away. But He stayed there out of love, And I’m forgiven here today. [Chorus] Heaven sent a Hero When I couldn’t find my way; He came down here to reach me, And He took my sins away. I may never find the words,..... there are no words to say, For the price He chose to pay......, what a price He had to pay And my rescue has a name..... His name is Jesus [Bridge] Then early Sunday morning, That stone was rolled away; The One who died to save me Is still saving souls today. And when I call upon Him, I know He hears me pray. [Final Chorus] Heaven sent a Hero When I couldn’t find my way; He came down here to reach me, And He took my sins away. I may never find the words,..... there are no words to say, For the price He chose to pay......, what a price He had to pay And my rescue has a name..... His name is Jesus [Final Chorus] [Key change up 1 semitone] Heaven sent a Hero When I couldn’t find my way; He came down here to reach me, And He took my sins away I may never find the words,..... there are no words to say, For the price He chose to pay......, what a price He had to pay And my rescue has a name..... His name is Jesus [Tag] He came to where I was When I couldn’t get to Him. My rescue has a name...... And His name is Jesus.
