Vocal Strength Coach Reacts to Twenty One Pilots – Heavydirtysoul | FIRST TIME

After “Jumpsuit,” the Clique sent me to Twenty One Pilots’ official “The Story” playlist and told me to begin with “Heavydirtysoul.” Now I understand where that burning car came from. This felt every bit as relatable as “Jumpsuit.” To me, it depicts someone battling himself inside his own mind, confronting the fact that our time is finite, and searching for a way to keep moving without being controlled by his own fear and insecurity. I also love the deceptive simplicity of this band. It is just two people, a drum set, Tyler’s voice, and an extraordinary amount of sound and meaning. Tyler can rap, scream, sing with a bluesy soulfulness, and move between those sounds almost instantly. Combined with Josh’s drumming and the spectacular visuals, this was another incredibly impressive experience.
