This album has been produced to assist teachers of Highland Dancing and their pupils in class and medal test work. All the dances included in the record are used in competitions and will prove invaluable to dancers when practicising. The Ghillie Calum and Seann Thriubhas are played twice, to give teachers and dancers an alternative selection of the numbers of steps wich they wish to perform. Pipe Major McLeod is an accomplished piper who has many years of experience of playing for Highland Dancing, and the dancers will appreciate the excellent tempo wich he maintains troughout the record, as indeed will pipers appreciate the music for its own sake. 0:00 HIGHLAND FLING (6) Devil in the Kitchen The Marquis O' Huntley (Both Trad.) 1:45 SWORD DANCE (3 and 1) Ghillie Calum (Trad.) 4:10 SWORD DANCE (2 and 3) Ghillie Calum (Trad.) 6:27 STRATHSPEY AND HIGHLAND REEL (2 and 2) Orange and Blue Rose among the Heather De'il among the Tailors The Fairy Dance (All Trad. -- Arr.
