Which diarist buried his parmesan during the Great Fire of London? What were the first chainsaws designed to help with? One hundred hard general knowledge quiz questions - no multiple choice, no hints, just you and ten seconds. HOW IT WORKS Every question is read aloud and stays on screen for ten seconds. There are no options to pick between, so the answer has to come from memory. Then the answer appears with a picture - sometimes with a quick fact you probably didn't know. Keep count as you go. WHAT'S IN THIS QUIZ Science, space and nature: how many sides a snowflake almost always has, the element named after Albert Einstein, the most volcanic place in the solar system, the hottest part of the Sun, the gas behind the smell of rotten eggs, the fish that gives us true caviar and a sea creature that can turn back into a baby. History: the shortest presidency in US history, the 1415 battle won by English longbows, the treaty that split the New World in two, the codename for the Normandy landings, Cleopatra's real ancestry, the last country to abolish slavery and a king found under a Leicester car park. Words and language: what the H.G. in H.G. Wells stands for, what the 'Q' in Q-tips means, what H&M and RSVP are short for, a famous film written only in initials and how many zeros follow the 1 in a googol. Film, TV, music and games: the director of 'Seven Samurai', the person with the most Oscars ever, the oldest actor to win one, the best-selling boy band of all time, the sitcom set in Pawnee, Indiana, the composer of 'Carmen' and Mario's spiky archenemy. Sport: the oldest football club in the world, the first perfect 10 in Olympic gymnastics, the first person to swim the English Channel and the town that hosted the very first Winter Olympics. Plus two word connections, two zoom-ins, two landmarks, two famous faces, two flags and two film stills. HOW HARD IS IT? Hard. The average score is around 50 out of 100 - most people fly through the first twenty and then hit a wall. HOW TO PLAY Pause if you need to, but no googling. Count your correct answers and leave your score in the comments - and tell us which question caught you out. New quizzes every week - subscribe so you don't miss the next one.
