In a bowl, mix warm milk, water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until slightly foamy. 2. Add flour, salt, and butter. Mix, then knead by hand for about 8–10 minutes until you get a smooth, soft dough. 3. Cover the bowl with a cloth and leave the dough to rise for 40–60 minutes, until doubled in size. 4. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface, shape into a log and divide into 8 equal pieces. Form each into a round roll. 5. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper, gently flatten and make a line in the middle of each roll (optional). Cover and let rise for another 15–20 minutes. 6. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 15–20 minutes, until golden.
