The Disaster That Killed EA's NFL Street Series

NFL Tour on Xbox 360 was EA’s attempt to follow up the NFL Street series with a new style of arcade football. In this video, I revisit NFL Tour to find out why EA moved away from NFL Street, and whether this forgotten football game was really as disappointing as people remember. Released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, NFL Tour features fast-paced 7-on-7 football with real NFL teams and players, huge hits, wall runs, reversals, simplified controls, and over-the-top arcade gameplay. The formula was clearly inspired by what made NFL Street popular, but NFL Tour took the series in a very different direction. I revisit the gameplay, Tour mode, passing, running, tackling, animations, commentary, presentation, and arcade mechanics to see what actually went wrong.
