Leaving Zadar behind, our Balkan Odyssey continued south along Croatia’s spectacular Adriatic Coast by bus to Split, where we spent two nights exploring one of Croatia’s most fascinating and vibrant cities. Split is a wonderful mix of ancient history, beautiful waterfront scenery, lively streets and great food. We explored the city’s main sights, wandered through the extraordinary Diocletian’s Palace, strolled along the Riva and enjoyed some memorable Croatian meals. On our second day, we headed out onto the Adriatic for a spectacular three-island and Blue Lagoon speedboat excursion, visiting the historic town of Trogir and enjoying the crystal-clear waters and beautiful islands along the way.
