CSTE Corner Ep. 14 Carl Fassberg- Grain

In this episode of CSTE Corner, we sit down with Carl Fasberg, founder of Grain—a new independent film platform designed to help filmmakers distribute their work, connect with audiences, and earn revenue from their films. Carl discusses how Grain developed from a LinkedIn-style networking platform for filmmakers into a streaming service that gives creators 70% of the revenue. He also shares his entrepreneurial journey, the challenges of building a startup with a team, the importance of delegation, and how Grain won both first place and the Audience Choice Award at CSUN’s 2026 Bull Ring competition. We also talk about pitching, responding to feedback, preparing for tough questions, and Carl’s vision for creating a new industry where filmmakers can make a living doing what they love.
