After a long struggle in the water, he catches a good amount of fish. But Đức doesn't keep the fish for himself. He remembers the lonely old man who once opened his door and gave him shelter when heavy rain came. So Đức carries his catch back to the old man's small home in the mountains. Together, they prepare a simple countryside meal — freshly fried fish and stir-fried banana, pumpkin and papaya leaves. Then they sit beside the wood fire, eat together, and share stories about life. Đức has lost one arm, but he has never lost his courage to live.
