In 1997, one company took 87% of the money Americans spent on 3D graphics cards in stores. Its name was 3dfx, and if you played games on a PC in the late nineties, a Voodoo card was the one you owned or wanted. Just a few years later, its rival NVIDIA bought what was left of it.
