Has the world got any of you feeling a little unsafe at the moment? It’s a genuine feeling right now for a lot of people. When that sense of safety drops, the body stays alert, even when you’re trying to rest.
That’s where our little friend oxytocin comes in.
As explored in my previous oxytocin videos, it’s often referred to as the “bonding hormone”, playing a key role in helping the body feel safe, connected and at ease. It’s closely linked to physical comfort, trust and that sense of being able to properly relax.
This time, I wanted to take that idea further. Instead of something open or spacious, I focused on a more enclosed feeling. Something closer. More contained. Like being wrapped up and completely undisturbed. So this one became Oxytocin Cocoon!
At the core of this soundscape are two foundations:
Oxytocin Melt
A warm, mid-density noise layer with softened highs and a subtle harmonic bloom. It gently diffuses, creating a smooth “melting” effect that helps release tension and ease the body into calm.
Cocoon Warmth
A low-to-mid frequency soundscape of soft, filtered noise forming a continuous, insulating layer. It feels close and surrounding, promoting safety, stillness, and deeply settled rest.
From there, I began shaping and blending the layers using slow filtering, controlled smoothing and gentle dynamic balancing. The aim was to remove any sharp edges and keep everything stable and consistent. I built the texture using softened noise layers, low hums and warm tonal beds, keeping everything close within the frequency range so nothing feels distant or exposed. Subtle movement was introduced through very slow modulation, just enough to stop the sound from becoming static, but never enough to pull your attention.
The result is a soundscape that feels contained, warm and steady. Less like a space, more like being wrapped in one.
So if your body feels tense or your mind hasn’t quite switched off yet, maybe this is the one to help you settle.
Sleep long and sleep well tonight my friends.
