Have you ever noticed something strange about your life? You meet someone new, and at first everything feels different. The connection feels exciting. You believe this person might finally be different from the people you knew before. But after some time, the same problems begin to appear. The same arguments. The same disappointment. The same emotional distance. The same feeling that you are giving more than you receive. And eventually, you find yourself asking: Why does this keep happening to me? Why do I keep attracting the same kind of people? According to the Buddha’s teachings, the answer is not simply that you are unlucky, surrounded by bad people, or destined to repeat the same relationships. Buddhism asks you to look somewhere much deeper: into the patterns of your own mind. The people who enter your life are not necessarily controlled by your thoughts, and Buddhism does not teach that you magically create every person you meet. But the way you perceive people, the qualities you tolerate, the reactions you repeat, and the attachments you carry can strongly influence which relationships continue, which ones become intense, and which patterns repeat.
