Hiking Maloja-Lunghin-Septimer Passes into the Bergell | High Altitude Swiss Trek Join me on a uniquely Swiss high-altitude tour that has a little something for everyone! Spanning roughly 15km with 900 meters of elevation gain and 1,200 meters of descent, this stunning route follows the Senda Segantini—the famous path honoring the celebrated Swiss landscape painter Giovanni Segantini. Starting above the sparkling waters of the Upper Engadin, we hike past traditional Walser farms, visit the source of the Inn River at Lake Lunghin, and cross the famed triple-watershed at Lunghin Pass. From there, we drop down to Septimer Pass and follow an ancient Roman road all the way down into the Bergell region, finishing among the classic stone-roofed houses of Casaccia. Surrounded by 3,000-meter peaks, lush green meadows, crystalline mountain lakes, and fascinating volcanic geology, this hike traverses three distinct cultural landscapes: Engadiner, Walser, and Bregagliott.
