Manda Bay: Kenya's 5-Star Resort Where the Beach Meets the African Bush 🇰🇪

I spent three fantastic nights at Manda Bay, a 5-star resort on Manda Island in Kenya’s Lamu Archipelago — and discovered one of the most unusual beach experiences I’ve ever had. Manda Bay combines a beautiful Indian Ocean beach with something you don't normally expect at a luxury coastal resort: the wild African bush. One minute you're swimming and walking along a deserted beach, and the next you're surrounded by ancient baobab trees, acacias, birds and Cape buffalo. One of the things that makes Manda Bay so unusual is the feeling of isolation. The resort is located on Manda Island, but it isn't a private island — the island is home to a local community. At the resort itself, however, there are only a small number of guests, creating an incredibly peaceful and secluded experience. After visiting 88 countries, this was my first time staying on Manda Island, and Manda Bay exceeded my expectations in almost every way.
