Kanye Omari West was born on June 8, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia. Everyone around him doubted that he would have a future, but with this album, West would prove them wrong. One night, while driving to his studio, he fell asleep with his hands still on the wheel, suffering a car accident that It would damage his jaw, leaving him unable to speak. His record label thought for a moment that it was the end and that they had wasted money unnecessarily, but Kanye kept insisting on making his album; he just needed some time. While West was recovering from his jaw injury, he continued recording his album; one of the songs that made it to the final cut was "Through The Wire." a song in which he turned his tragedy into an anthem of ultimate overcoming adversity.
