I Lay It Down - Alan Stone

I Lay It Down is a prayer from the middle of a hard night. It’s about knowing Christ is faithful while still struggling to release the things we cannot change. Sometimes we place a burden in His hands, only to realize we’ve picked it back up again. This song lives in that tension. The fear is real. The love is real. The helplessness is real. But so is the grace of God. The music was intentionally built to carry that weight slowly — minor-key tension, space between the words, a gradual emotional rise, and a guitar solo that feels more like part of the prayer than a break from it. At its heart, I Lay It Down is about surrender without giving up, loving without trying to control the outcome, and trusting that Christ remains faithful even while we are still learning how to rest. Faith with road dust on it. Alan
