What if something God is doing in your life feels wrong...not because it is wrong, but because you have not yet learned how to hear it? In this episode of Ordinary Idiots, host David Morillo explores Philippians 2:12–13 through an unexpected picture: the “notes between the notes” in music. Just as an untrained ear may hear unfamiliar tones as dissonance, we can mistake God’s work in our lives for something wrong when it does not fit the world’s definition of success, security, control, or happiness. Paul does not tell us to work for our salvation. He tells us to work out what God is already working in us. Salvation is a gift of grace; sanctification is the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit shaping the life of Jesus within us. In this conversation, we reflect on: The difference between salvation and sanctification What “work out your salvation” really means in Philippians 2 Why God changes not only our behavior, but also our desires How Jesus challenges the world’s definitions of power, greatness, and victory Why unresolved seasons do not mean God has made a mistake How to trust the Composer when you can only hear one unfinished note If God is teaching you forgiveness, generosity, rest, surrender, or trust, the invitation is simple: participate. Work out what your Father is working in. Friday is not the whole song. Sunday is coming.
