Christopher P. Smith is President and Chief Gemologist of American Gemological Laboratories (AGL), where he has led the lab since 2009. With more than 35 years in gemology, he is internationally recognized for his research in colored gemstone origin determination, treatment detection, and testing. His numerous honors include the Antonio C. Bonanno Award for Excellence in Gemology and the Richard T. Liddicoat Award.
