Subway Series 2002 Game 1 of the 3 game series from Shea Stadium recorded and Digitalized off the Original Recorded VHS tapes which were later converted to DVD through a DVD Recorder/Burner (cir.2004) and has been recently restored (burned Blu Ray/remaster) and making its debut on the Phenia Film MLB archival channel on Youtube. Original WPIX Broadcast with Gary Thorne, Tom Seaver and Ralph Kiner. a cold and rainy day at Shea as the Mets Yankees kick off the first game of the Subway Series 2002 with starting pitchers Andy Pettitte for the Yankees who just came off the DL since since late April. for the Home Mets Steve Trachsel gets the start in this long played 10 Inning ball game. Mets have a 2 run lead through 7 innings, after scoring 2 unearned runs in the 3rd inning including a pass ball from catcher Jorge Posada. Yankees finally get to Trachsel scoring picking up a run in the Top of the 8th on an RBI single from Bernie Williams scoring Dereck Jeter then tie the game in the 9th on a RBI single from Jeter as we move into extra innings. After the Mets basically gave 3B Robin Ventura away for nothing during the off season, it comes back to haunt them in the top of the 10th, after a lead off Double from Jorge Posada, Ventura hits the game winning Homerun (16) deep to right center off Mets reliever Satoru Komiyama. Steve Karsay gets the win for the Yankees (3-2) and Komiyama with the loss (0-3) and would never pick up a win in his short lived MLB career from 2002 season.
