PROF. OREH ANNOUNCES AUTOMATIC EMPLOYMENT FOR BEST PUMS GRADUANDS Professor Adaeze Chidinma Oreh has charged newly inducted healthcare professionals of Pamo University of Medical Sciences (PUMS), Port Harcourt, to uphold professional ethics, integrity and excellence in healthcare delivery. She gave the charge on Friday, October 16, 2026, while representing the Board of Trustees and Governing Council at the university’s Joint Induction and Oath-Taking Ceremony for graduands of Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science, and Radiography and Radiation Sciences. Congratulating the 28 inductees, Professor Oreh emphasized teamwork, patient safety, compassion and professional integrity, urging them to apply their knowledge and skills towards improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria. She described medical laboratory scientists as vital to accurate diagnosis, nurses as the backbone of patient care, and radiographers and radiation scientists as essential contributors to modern medical diagnosis and treatment. A major highlight of her address was the announcement of automatic employment, following internship, for the best graduating inductees from the three departments, in recognition of their academic excellence. Professor Oreh commended the university’s management, faculty members, parents and guardians for their contributions to the success of the graduands. She also appreciated the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, and Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria for their roles in maintaining professional standards. The ceremony, held at the Abubakar A. Rasheed Auditorium, PUMS, was attended by representatives of the professional regulatory bodies and other distinguished guests, with the university’s Pro-Chancellor, Sir Dr. Peter O. Odili, CON, serving as Special Guest of Honour and Chairman. She urged the inductees to uphold their professional oaths, represent the university with pride and contribute meaningfully to strengthening the nation’s healthcare system.
